Wintertime Activities in New York City

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

New York City has no shortage of activities to keep your clients busy no matter what time of year they decide to visit, but wintertime has some particularly unique offerings that can only be experienced during these colder months. Here are just a few of the top experiences the Big Apple has to offer during the winter season.

Ice skating at The Rink at Rockefeller Center with NYC’s giant Christmas tree towering above is undoubtedly one of the most iconic winter activities that the city has to offer, but it’s not the only place where your clients can strap on some skates and hit the ice. The Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park offers New York City’s only free admission skating rink, in addition to various shopping, food and beverage experiences, while Brooklyn’s Prospect Park is home to LeFrak Center at Lakeside with roof-covered and uncovered rinks on site. Your clients can also head to Central Park, where they can also take skating lessons at the Wollman and Lasker rinks.

When they’ve gotten their fill on skating, Central Park’s Pilgrim Hill is also perfect for sledding, while other sledding opportunities can be found at Inwood Hill Park’s trails on the Upper West Side, at Riverside Park alongside the Hudson, and also at Prospect Park in Brooklyn.

For clients who may want to take their skating experience to the next level, recommend a stay at the Conrad Hotel New York. Each winter, this Lower Manhattan property offers its Conrad Skate with the Greats program, giving guests the opportunity to skate with former Olympians at the rink at Brookfield Place as part of their stay.
