Anantara Phuket Layan Resort & Spa, located on the northwest coast of Phuket, Thailand, just 20 minutes from Phuket International Airport and 35 minutes from the city centre, offers guests the best of both worlds—tranquil beaches as well as lively bars and boutique shopping in Laguna.

Anantara Phuket Layan’s contemporary design is surrounded by exotic landscapes and coconut trees on one of the island’s least developed beaches. The 77-suite and villas resort offers nine different room types, including a 2-bedroom Family Pool Villa, two 2-bedroom Pool Villas, and an Anantara Pool Villa, which accommodates up to six adults. Each room features local accents, an iPod docking station, an Apple TV for video and movie streaming from guests’ iPhones or iPads, a custom stocked wine cabinet, in-room bar, a Nespresso machine, tea facilities, high-speed Internet, and a selection of books. The 47 villas each feature a private pool, and offers a discreet personal Villa Host 24-hours a day.

The resort is home to a variety of dinning options including Sala Layan, the all-day dining facility offering breakfast buffet with live cooking stations, and vitality food selections throughout the day; Deeplee, the signature restaurant offering authentic Thai cuisine; Infinity Bar offering Thai tapas and cocktails with cliff edge views; and the Breeze pool bar offering cocktails, fresh juices, and light poolside snacks. Sunshine Butlers are also on hand with fruit skewers and cold face towels to cool sunbathers. Guests can take part in personalized Dining by Design experiences where personal menus are created by the chef and served at a table for two in one of the resort’s picturesque locations such as an isolated enclave or a deck on a cliff edge.

Spice Spoons, a cooking school concept, invites budding master chefs to take part in the local gastronomy scene through culinary discovery. Spice Spoons starts the day with a visit to the local market to learn about and buy fresh ingredients, later the chef hats and aprons come on in the resort’s open theatre kitchen for an interactive learning experience.

Gurus around the resort offer their expertise in a variety of areas. Salt Gurus help diners pair  food with the perfect seasoning from a collection of 17 salt varieties, while Wine Gurus offer guests a journey through the world of wines with regular tasting sessions. The Slumber Guru makes sure guests enjoy their night’s sleep and are reinvigorated for another day at Anantara.

The resort also features the Chang Children’s Club for guests 12 and under offering supervised activities, Kids menus, cooking classes and a Little People’s Spa menu. Adults can escape to the spa as well at Anantara Spa, offering traditional Asian therapies in seven treatment suites, as well as manicure and pedicure studios.
