A new ship is joining Compagnie du Ponant’s fleet next spring, and the line is offering new bookings for itineraries to the Antarctic and South America for the 2015-2016 winter season.
New Ship
Le Lyrial, the fourth ship joining the fleet, will offer guests an intimate and sophisticated style of sailing, with the ship’s interior design featuring a cozy and contemporary feel with a palette of blues. Deck 6, incidentally, will accommodate larger suites, up to 600 sq. ft. for the Owner’s Suite. The inaugural cruise will sail in April 2015, and the ship will be cruising the Mediterranean on its inaugural season visiting Italy, Croatia, Montenegro, Greece, and Turkey, before heading to Antarctica.
Guests who book the 2015-2016 Winter cruises will receive Ponant Bonus benefits including up to 30 percent off brochure prices. There are also a variety of pre- and post-cruise programs available.
Antarctic Exploration
From November 2015 to January 2016, the cruise line will offer three itineraries for polar safari experiences—aboard Le Boreal, L’Austral and Le Lyrial. These 122- to 132-stateroom yachts comply with the international Green Ship label, allowing them to access protected sites only accessible to small ships. Itineraries include:
• The Antarctic Peninsula—an 11-day journey discovering icebergs, fur seals, Gentoo, Adelie, and chinstrap penguins. Rates start at $7,360 pp.
• Antarctica & South Georgia—a 15-day itinerary exploring glaciers, black sandy beaches, and king penguins. Rates start at $8,470 pp.
• The Great Austral Loop—a 15-day journey visiting the Falklands, South Georgia, and icebergs of the North Antarctic Peninsula. Rates start at $9,940 pp.
