Barcelo Maya Grand Resort is already comprised of five properties—Barcelo Maya Palace, Barcelo Maya Beach, Barcelo Maya Caribe, Barcelo Maya Colonial, and Barcelo Maya Tropical—but in December 2019, the all-inclusive resort complex will add the new Barcelo Maya Riviera.
The newest addition to the complex will be an adults-only, all-inclusive resort featuring 850 guestrooms—more than half of which offer ocean views—hot tubs in all guestroom balconies, 110 Swim Up Suites and Junior Suites, five bars, and four pools. When mealtime rolls around, guests can choose between a buffet restaurant and four specialty restaurants. The specialty restaurants will offer an array of cuisine, including Mexican, with a “Tacoyaki” bar, French fine dining, as well as Italian, and Japanese with 10 Tepanyaki tables and one Robatayaki table for fireside cooking.
In addition to the new adults-only Barcelo Maya Riviera, the resort complex is slated to unveil the largest convention center in the region with the May 2020 opening of the Barcelo Maya Arena. It will feature more than 190,000 sq. ft. of customizable multi-purpose spaces for expos, conventions and events. For gala receptions with ocean views and fresh air, event planners can make use of the 3,400 sq. ft. terrace. Meanwhile, a different ambiance can be found in the underground dining venue. Noteworthy for wedding planners is the gazebo, which is located near the resort’s infinity swimming pool, boasting ocean views.
“Barcelo Maya Riviera is set to reshape the region’s hotel and convention offerings,” said Stefania Ballotta, director of sales and marketing at Barcelo Maya Grand Resort, in press materials. “We can’t wait to share this new property with our valued guests and event planners.”
