Club Med is headed to the Dominican Republic (again) with the brand’s second property in the DR. The brand just announced they’ll be breaking ground at Miches—located on the northeast coast of the Dominican Republic about an hour from the Punta Cana International Airport—and this new resort will be the first Club Med Exclusive Collection resort in the Americas, and the first 5-trident property in the Caribbean. The new 93-acre resort is expected to open December 2019, and will be the first operating resort in the soon-to-be-developed region.

The property, Club Med Miches (a working title), will feature a boutique resort-within-a-resort concept that will ensure guests receive a customized active vacation with new offerings including immersive excursions and eco-chic accommodations. There will also be an adult-exclusive area (a concept similar to that of the Zen Oasis area of Club Med Punta Cana), children’s clubs for ages 4 months to 17 years, and a variety of land and water sports.

Since Club Med Miches is a working title, and not the resort’s final name, Club Med is inviting guests from all over the world to help name the resort by visiting Facebook.com/ClubMedMiches on May 8, 2018 to vote for their preferred name. The official name will be announced on May 10, 2018.
