A “Game of Thrones”-Inspired Tour in Croatia

To celebrate the upcoming sixth season of HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” Select Croatia is inviting fans of the fantasy series and history buffs to Dalmatia for a tour of the locations depicted in the hit TV drama.

The Power & Beauty of Dubrovnik city tour features visits to major filming locations in the series’ fifth season as Dubrovnik’s Old Town portrays the fortified port city of King’s Landing (the capital city of the show’s fictitious realm—Seven Kingdoms). Guests begin the tour with a cable car ride 1,330 ft. above Dubrovnik to see the city’s harbor and Adriatic coastline with its many islands. After a drive back down to Dubrovnik, guests visit the Old Town, taking a stroll through the city’s marble-paved streets against the backdrop of the Gothic-, Renaissance- and Baroque-style architecture. At Rector’s Palace, now a museum, enormous 15th century Gothic-Renaissance architecture evoking the city’s history are waiting to be discovered. Guests take a break to sample Croatian wines at Prijeko Palace while looking out over Dubrovnik’s famous red roofs, before ending the tour with a boat trip to the Island of Lokrum.
