Intrepid Vacations is branching out with the latest introduction of its small group tours, Immersions.
Immersions will launch in 2014 starting with tours of Italy that cap at 16 travelers (with a minimum of two). The new brand will provide travelers with a more in-depth experience in each region, in addition to luxurious features such as gourmet dinners and wine pairings.
“Intrepid Vacations’ Immersions group tours provide a unique experience for travelers to intimately explore new cities and regions. Smaller groups allow for a more private experience and provide greater value,” says Brian John, president and CEO of Intrepid Vacations. “Our professional tour directors can be more flexible to make changes to daily activities along the way to further cater to the wishes and desires of travelers in small groups.”
One of the five new tours, Absolute Italy, is a 9-day trip that starts with a 3-night stay in Rome, followed by a 3-night stay in Florence and a 2-night stay in Venice. Travelers will sample dishes in trattorias, take gondola rides in Venice, and explore landmarks such as the Spanish Steps and the Uffizzi Galleries. Highlights include a wine tasting with cheese and salami in Siena and a wine and olive tasting in Chianti. Rates start at $2,181 pp.
