Majestic Line is entering a new territory for the cruise line in 2016 with the addition of four sailings in the Outer Hebrides and St Kilda in Scotland. While Majestic Line usually converts old fishing vessels into mini-cruise vessels, for these upcoming sailings, it decided to create a specially designed 12-passenger ship, The Glen Etive. The new vessel will cover remote areas and long distances around a selection of the Hebridean Islands on four new itineraries, including Idyllic Isles of the Outer Hebrides, From Skye to the Shiants, Islay and the Inner Hebrides, and St Kilda and the Outer Hebrides. Itineraries are flexible and allow guests to view the islands’ diverse scenery, observe wildlife and learn about the communities that live there. For example, the Islay and the Inner Hebrides cruise, departing May 21 and Aug. 27, 2016, features ports of calls and anchorages in Loch Spelve, Isle of Mull, where guests can spot otters and eagles; The Garvellachs, where guests can visit the well-preserved ruins of a fifth century Celtic monastery; and The Isle of Islay, where guests can tour whisky distilleries. Rates for all four itineraries start at $6,127. For more information, visit themajesticline.co.uk.
