Looking for something to offer those spa aficionados? Here’s a handful of indulgent offerings.
Twelve Apostles Hotel in Cape Town will debut its new spa in August, which will feature a completely fresh identity and new management. Among the spa’s new offerings will be individual treatments and spa journeys, personalized for each guest by skilled therapists using Elemis and Dermalogica products.
“Our commitment to well-being focuses on holistic principles, combining ancient wisdom with modern expertise,” says Toni Tollman, designer and family member of the award-winning, family-owned Red Carnation Hotel Collection of luxury boutique hotels.
For instance, The Apostles Touch includes using stones from Table Mountain for a hot stone foot massage, handpicked fynbos (South African shrubs) for a back of the body exfoliation and shells from the Atlantic Ocean for a lava shell massage. The hedonistic Sunset Mountain Serenade starts with a champagne picnic, followed by a touch point foot ritual and a 90-minute massage in the shaded mountain gazebos. A spa menu for men includes the Gentleman’s Exclusive Facial, waxing and the Manli Cure to soften rough hands and arms.
The spa’s new white and crystal interior will have seven fully equipped treatment rooms for dual and single treatments, a hydrotherapy bath, rain showers, a Rasul chamber for traditional cleansing rituals using steam and mud, a Perfect Finish Salon for manicures and pedicures, Wild Lanyana Aromatherm Room for hydrotherapy treatments or a Vichy Shower, plunge pools, a floatation pool and a Tranquility Lounge.
In London, The Milestone Hotel in Kensington is taking relaxation to the next level as the five-star property recently teamed up with leading sleep and performance specialist Tej Samani.
With the hotels’s new Sound Sleep Experience package, guests receive a 1-hour tailored, private consultation with Samani, who is currently recognized as one of the top five practitioners in the world in the emerging science of neuro-stratology. His programs have helped celebrities, politicians, world-class athletes and top corporate personnel improve performance by getting the quality, natural sleep they deserve, and he now brings his unique skill set to The Milestone.
To take the sleep experience one step further, The Milestone is also offering guests the use of an Alpha Sleep Pod, which will help even the most hardened insomniacs enter their dream world within minutes. Developed by Alpha Matrix Technologies, of which Samani is a co-founder, the pod is a matchbox-sized device with earphones. The team has carefully analyzed the brainwave patterns of individuals who can sleep well and those who cannot. The audio frequency has been matched to the same frequency as a healthy sleeper to tackle three different sleep conundrums: falling asleep, getting back to sleep if you wake in the middle of the night, and taking an energizing power nap.
In addition, the package includes a relaxing treatment in The Milestone’s exclusive spa, as well as a healthy, energizing breakfast and top 10 tips at turndown to give the best chance of slumber. Rates for the Sound Sleep Experience start at $1,560 dbl per night. For more information, visit milestonehotel.com.
