The Alpina Gstaad, a Preferred Hotels & Resorts member, opened this month on the hilltop area of Oberbort, making it the first new five-star hotel in the area in 100 years.

The $337 million hotel took four years to complete and is set on five acres, with 56 guestrooms and suites—none of which are identical—and two chalets. The Alpina Gstaad features three restaurants—Japanese MEGU, a traditional Swiss stubli and Restaurant Sommet—as well as the Six Senses Spa, which includes a hammam, fitness center and lap pool.

Rates start at $915 per day for a Deluxe Double Room and include breakfast, WiFi, taxes, service charges, and a $323 credit for two for food and beverage. For more information, visit
