Fans of the iconic Harry Potter books and movies can indulge in all the magic this summer.
Universal Orlando Resort reveals new details on The Hogwarts Express, which opens this summer. Recreating the experience of the famous Harry Potter books and movies, guests will get to ride the iconic train between “London” and “Hogsmeade.”
Debuting this summer, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter—Diagon Alley in Universal Studios will connect with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter—Hogsmeade in Islands of Adventure, allowing guests with park-to-park admission to enjoy a real journey aboard the Hogswarts Express. The ride combines storytelling and live special effects with lifelike animation and technology to take riders on a magical journey. Guests will enjoy two completely different experiences depending on whether they’re traveling to “Hogsmeade” or to “London.”
While waiting for the Hogswarts Express to pull into the station, guests will see its steam and hear the whistle calling them aboard. Once inside, they’ll sit in one of the train’s cabins and ride just like the Harry Potter characters did in the books and films. While traveling along, guests can see the British countryside, encounter magical creatures or even some Harry Potter characters or Dementors. Guests will be transported from the Muggle world to the wizarding world as they pass through the brick wall at King’s Cross Station and arrive at Platform 9.
