The Costa Rica Tourism Board (ICT) has announced that JetBlue Airways plans to add four weekly nonstop flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Liberia, Costa Rica’s Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport (LIR) starting Nov. 17.
This new service on JetBlue’s Airbus A320 fleet will commemorate the debut of the new airport in Liberia, which serves as the hub for Costa Rica’s Northwest region. Flights will operate Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday. Liberia will be JetBlue’s second destination in the country, in addition to San Jose’s Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO), which is served daily from Orlando International (MCO) since March 2009.
