Guacalito de la Isla, a 1,670-acre private beach community in Nicaragua, is now the home of the luxury, five-star resort, Mukul Beach, Golf & Spa. Beachfront Guacalito features outdoor activities from horseback riding to surfing and fishing.

“Discerning travelers looking for unique, luxury and genuine experiences would enjoy staying at Mukul Beach, Golf & Spa, as the resort offers incredibly exclusive experiences that are true to Nicaragua and the region where the resort is located,” says Federico Spada, the resort’s general manager.

Mukul Beach, Golf & Spa features 37 Oceanfront Villas and Hillside Bohios, as well as a 15,600-sq.-ft. villa, which is the private home of acclaimed golf designer, David McLay Kidd, and available for rent when the designer is not in residence. The DMK Villa was designed to resemble a luxurious Nicaraguan plantation house with adobe walls, re-tiled and palapa roofs, and interior spaces that incorporate native hardwoods, tiles, and stones.

Onsite amenities at Mukul include Spa Mukul with six private treatment rooms, a Flor de Caña rum tasting room, the Mukul Beach Club featuring dining and lounge areas, as well as a pool, and the 18-hole Guacalito Golf Course. Guests can also enjoy the four miles of white-sand beaches and the nature trails ideal for hiking and biking. The resort also features three dining venues: Beach Terrace for outdoor dining; Parrilla for beach dining; and La Mesa, a luxury dining option—most of the produce serviced at Mukul is grown by local farmers and the seafood is selected daily from the catch provided by local fishermen. For guests staying a minimum of four days, Mukul provides complimentary airport transfers. For more information, visit mukulresort.com.
