Melia Hotels International recently announced its latest addition in the Dominican Republic with the Dec. 15 opening of The Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real.

The new hotel is the first of its kind in the Paradisus portfolio featuring ultra-luxe amenities and is also the third Paradisus property to open in the Dominican Republic. The property is comprised of 288 brand-new accommodations ranging from 800 to over 3,000 sq. ft. Suites feature either one or two bedrooms and a variety of amenities including living and dining spaces, independent soaking tubs and walk-in showers, as well as private secluded balconies with hydro-massage whirlpool tubs and outdoor living spaces. The Grand Reserve also offers Swim-Up Suites with 1- or 2-bedroom accommodations and direct access to an exclusive pool, complete with garden areas and a solarium.

In addition, The Grand Reserve features 14 restaurants and bars including a gourmet market, a modern steakhouse with an open-format kitchen, a ceviche bar with fresh signature ceviche, pokes and tartars, plus an Asian-inspired dining concept featuring a sushi bar, teppanyaki and robatayaki tables. Also debuting at its first Paradisus property is Black Oak, a modern take on a classic cigar bar offering a premium selection of cigars, liqueurs and artisanal cocktails. When guests are not indulging their tastebuds or relaxing in their rooms, the property offers an array of activities from water yoga and other fitness classes to water games and slides at the Blast! AquaFun Park.

Along with the amenities offered at The Grand Reserve, guests will be able to Stay at One & Play at Three, with complete access to the extensive property offerings at both The Reserve and Paradisus Palma Real, with their 15 restaurants, including Passion by Chef Martin Berasategui who holds ten Michelin stars, YHI Spa and YHI Spa Oriental Garden, five distinct pools and complimentary Life Enriching Experiences.
