As easy a sell as Karisma’s beachfront Riviera Maya resorts may be, it seems that the company is always whipping up ideas so that your sales efforts are not only stress-free, but greatly rewarding. With its Gourmet Inclusive Vacation Consultant (GIVC) Program—now exceeding 550 agents—travel pros get a support system that surpasses anything else out there, with a ton of customizable tools, live web training, perks for special clients and more.

The GIVC Program culminates each year in the GIVC Awards, where top producers are invited to the Riviera Maya and recognized for their sales. Last year, best property and wedding sellers were recognized at El Dorado Royale, A Spa Resort—a pretty-as-a-picture retreat made for long walks on the beach and lounging about. Once we asked our concierge to ease up on the “aromatic experience” in our Jacuzzi Suite, which will knock out anyone with allergies or migraine issues, it became a thoroughly enjoyable adventure from almost every angle—the outdoor shower, whirlpool tub with a view and balcony hammock for breezy siestas. With pool and beach butlers at the ready and a non-stop activity sheet daily that ranges from yoga on the beach to water polo, the extras provided make this a great adults-only choice for couples and friends.

El Dorado Royale and the other Karisma properties offer a lot for clients, but it’s their GIVC Program that has impressed us most. Mandy Chomat, v.p. of sales and marketing for Premier Worldwide Marketing, the exclusive representatives for El Dorado Spa Resorts & Hotels and Azul Hotels by Karisma, says agent response and participation have been tremendous. “The GIVC Program is designed to personally educate agents on the value of Gourmet Inclusive and to provide them with a variety of powerful promotional tools to enhance sales and business.” Among these is the Tango Marketing System, a free lead database and e-mail marketing program where agents can centralize clients’ contact info. Qualified agents are able to organize their database with market sources, send customized e-campaigns and promos with their own logos and receive customized feedback that lets them create more targeted e-mails. Additionally, they’ll be able to set up web banners on their websites.

Next time you schedule a site inspection at a Karisma property, let their camera crew know and they’ll host the video on YouTube. You can easily focus the video on your niche market, e-mail it to your clients and include a call to action at the end of each video. Plus, you’ll be “out there” for millions of YouTube users to discover. Additionally, GIVCs are included in advertising campaigns and on a designated web page accessible to the public that allows them to search for those agents who are closest to them.

GIVCs are also able to customize the Azulitos Activity Book, created by Azul Hotels by Karisma and Fisher Price. Karisma is able to design contact information stickers for each Vacation Consultant so that they can place it on each activity book and thus advertise their agency.

At Azul Beach Hotel, children 5 and under enjoy a special Baby & Toddler Inclusive Program. Upon check-in, they receive a smoothie and Azulitos Activity Book, and are pampered with kids’ menus, the Jugueteca Lending Program by Fisher Price, their own swimming pool and other extras. They’ll also get to pick from a DVD menu, which comes with popcorn delivery. Moms get a customized yoga and jogging program with babies in tow, plus story time on the beach. Families with babies under 3 get a whole bag of convenient gadgets they can use while at the property, including baby monitors, milk heaters, bathrobes, tubs, cribs and bottle sterilizers, along with Gourmet Gerber food.

The program also provides agents with a variety of certificates for clients that include beachfront massages, room category upgrades and beachfront dinners. Karisma also provides a wide array of marketing materials, including posters and postcards, brochures and flyers—all customizable. Yet another perk? One thousand complimentary business cards each year with your contact information and the GIVC logo.

Then there’s the GI Diamond Program, which tips its hat to Vacation Consultants who have produced more than the minimum required for the GIVC Program. Each of the program’s four levels is based on the number of room nights booked and comes with increasing perks such as complimentary room nights and year-end bonuses for each room night sold over the previous year.
