With major hotel brands adding new properties and undergoing renovations in Mexico, your clients can have their fill of renovated and improved places to choose from, whether they want an all-inclusive experience complete with a kids’ club or a more gourmet retreat.

In Cancun, the all-inclusive Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort has completed a $55 million renovation sprucing up the guestrooms and restaurants, and adding a wave simulator machine and dolphinairum, a nightlife venue, and two lounges for teens and children—the Wired Teens Lounge and Connection Zone Kids Club.

“We believe the Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort renovations take the ‘awe-inclusive’ concept to new heights. The enhancements and additions coupled with updated aesthetics, help create a refreshing and stimulating experience for our valued guests,” says Gibran Chapur, executive v.p. of Palace Resorts.

Guests can now find a new sushi bar and Teppanyaki tables at Asian restaurant Momo, which has also expanded its dining space to accommodate 350 guests. Meanwhile at the new nightclub Noir, inspired by the film “Tron,” guests can sip specialty crafted cocktails and listen to live entertainment.

In addition to enhancements to the resort’s Jack Nicklaus Golf Course, Moon Palace has added a dolphinarium where guests can swim with dolphins (eight of them, to be exact) in the saltwater aquarium managed by trainers from Dolphin Discovery.

Guests who book seven nights or more for travel now through Aug. 24 will receive an air credit of up to $525 on packaged bookings and a rebate of up to $280 for land-only bookings. Rates start at $203 pp, per night dbl. For more information, call (800) 635-1836 or visit palaceresorts.com.

The Barcelo Maya complex comprised of five all-inclusive resorts in the Riviera Maya will also be undergoing renovations, starting this month.

The $45 million project, which is set to be completed in 2014, will focus on the Barcelo Maya Beach and Barcelo Maya Caribe resorts. New additions include a Barcelo Maya Entertainment Center with a sports bar, bowling alley, teen disco, kids’ club, water park, paddle tennis courts and redesign of the 18-hole miniature golf course. While the project will take place in two phases, the first phase’s renovation will expand and modernize the hotels’ lobbies, add a new lobby bar and hospitality area, renovate the buffet restaurants, and add a new premium lounge club.

The complex offers 2,751 rooms in total, as well as 24 restaurants, 19 bars, five adult pools, two semi-Olympic pools, two children’s water parks, and a spa. Rates start at $125, but guests can save up to 25 percent from June 8-Oct. 31. This promotion can also be combined with up to $3,000 in resort credit, depending on the length of stay, from now through December. For more information, visit barcelo.com.
