New Hotels Popping Up All Over Turkey

New hotels are popping up all over Turkey with brands like St. Regis, Hilton, Sheraton and more adding properties to the new tourist hot spot.

This March, the House Hotel Vault Karakoy opened in Istanbul’s district of Karakoy on Bankalar Caddesi. Offering views of Topkapi Palace and the Spice Market, it fills two back-to-back historic buildings, the 1863 former Credit General Ottoman and the former community center of the Neve Shalom congregation. Opening in May, the Mercure Istanbul Taksim, located in the city’s Taksim Square tourist district, features 137 rooms, as well as a restaurant and a bar. For more information, visit mercure.com. Rates start at $133 per night.

The St. Regis Istanbul is set to open this summer in the Nisantasi neighborhood on the European side of the city. This area offers access to boutiques, restaurants, cafes and the Istanbul Congress Center and Taksim Square. The 118-room hotel, overlooking the Bosphorus, features a 2,000-sq.-ft. presidential suite, the brand’s signature butler service, a rooftop restaurant, a lobby bar, spa, and fitness club. Hilton Worldwide is also contributing to the hotel growth in Turkey with a few new properties, including The Hilton Antakya, which is scheduled to open early this year, near the Church of St. Peter in Antakya.
