Last month, I rung in my birthday the best way this writer knows how—away from work, at the spa, by the beach, and poolside [Thank you, boss lady! It was a Tuesday after all]. I couldn’t have asked for a better day to tear myself away from the chaos of daily life, deadlines, and in complete relaxation mode.
For this little celebration, I headed over to The Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne, where its spa oasis was my own retreat. The massage itself (a 50-minute Aromatherapy treatment), and my therapist, were magical as every knot was worked and reworked until my shoulders and back felt new again. Next, I headed to the sauna where the heated jacuzzi (with small warm waterfalls that massaged my back), sauna, and steam rooms became my drill as I switched from one to the other, with naps on the lounge chairs in-between. After a few hours of this heaven, I headed to the serene adults-only pool, where I feasted on delicious quesadillas.
