On Saturday nights, definitely recommend the resort’s new Wine Tasting Series, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m in the Aaria Lounge. Priced at $35 pp, this event features a different wine theme every month, along with regional canapes and live music. Each week, a wine expert is on-hand to guide guests through the tasting. Recent wine themes have focused on regions such as California, Chile and Italy, as well as varieties of rose and sparkling wines.

accent on amenities Aside from the aforementioned goodies, Acqualina also features three outdoor pools with sunscreen, sunglasses and other poolside must-haves available for purchase at the Beach Club Pool kiosk. For fitness-focused travelers, the resort’s fitness center is equipped with weight training units, treadmills, isometric machines and stationary bicycles. There are also a variety of outdoor beachside activities provided by Atlantic Beach Water Sports, including wave runners, hobie cat and kayak rentals.

Those traveling as a family with young children can take advantage of the resort’s AcquaMarine program, offering activities for children ages 4-12. Designated programs include Acqua Patrol—teaching kids about the world of the U.S. Coast Guard; and City Under the Sea, exploring underwater reefs and marine life, among others. In addition to designated programs, kids can also enjoy a 500-sq.-ft. children’s room, complete with a computer center, video games, toys, microscopes and movies.

Rates run $625 to $2,600 per night through April.
