The Florida Keys’ Battle in the Bay Dragon Boat Festival takes place May 16.
The festival is held at Marathon’s Sombrero Beach, which offers competitors a direct launch from the beach for their teams of 20 to power their boats in unison. Crowds get a close look of the decorated 40-ft.-long racing dragons along a 400-meter racecourse that’s parallel to the beach
There will be attractions during the festival including food and beverage, merchandise, kids’ play areas, and entertainment. Beachside activities are free.
