Fitness-minded travelers wishing to maintain their running regimens during vacation have access to an interactive running experience in Dallas, TX, and Hollywood, CA.
The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas recently introduced the Run and Recover program where hotel guests can enjoy a run along Dallas’ beloved Katy Trail near the Ritz-Carlton, accompanied by a hotel Running Buddy familiar with the area, its running terrain and trail options. Running Buddies at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, are experienced athletes, often with competitive racing experience, and they are able to tailor each run or jog to suit the fitness level and timing of the individual traveler.
After an accompanied run of up to one hour, guests will return to The Ritz-Carlton Spa for a 50- or 80-minute Fitness and Sports Massage—a customized athlete’s therapy that addresses pain and trigger points related to muscle stress and sports injuries.
Run and Recover at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas is priced at $205 for a 1-hour run with a running buddy followed by a 50-minute Fitness and Sports Massage, or $235 for a 1-hour run and 80-minute massage. Reservations require 48 hours advance notice and are subject to availability. For more information, visit ritzcarlton.com.
Hollywood-bound travelers, meanwhile, can see the infamous Hollywood sign, along with other of the city’s popular sites on Off n Running Tours’ new Running for the Hollywood Hills guided running tour.
For both runners and walkers of all levels, the 5-mile tour takes individuals through Beachwood Canyon where they can take in sweeping views of L.A., the Hollywood sign and all the way to the Pacific Ocean. Participants walk or run challenging hills while going past notable landmarks, celebrity homes and movie sites.
And unlike traditional group running or walking tours, Running for the Hollywood Hills are scheduled privately for either one or two persons. Tours are offered Sunday and Wednesday mornings at a cost of $65 pp.
“If people schedule early enough they can see the sun rise above the Hollywood sign, which is an unforgettable experience,” says Cheryl Anker, owner of Off ‘N Running Tours. For more information, visit offnrunningtours.com.
