When it comes to the best service in car rental, the travel agents have spoken. Hertz has been recognized as Best Rental Car for Travel Agent Support in Recommend’s Reader’s Choice Awards for the ninth consecutive year.
“We always appreciate recognition from agents who are critically important to our long term success,” says Richard Broome, senior v.p. of corporate affairs and communications, Hertz. “Our extensive sales force touches travel agencies every day and [creates] strong relationships with travel agency groups. Indeed, on hertzagentgold.com—Hertz’s travel agent-dedicated website—agents can make reservations, find special offers and get information on the latest products and services available, as well as use special tools like GDS Quick Reference guides. Additionally, agents can sign up for the Hertz Agent Gold Rewards program, where they can earn points for booking car rentals and redeem them on travel, entertainment and more. “We [have} organized [ourselves in a way] to meet travel agents’ needs and we will continue to work hard on their behalf in the future,” say Broome.
In fact, though 2009 was a difficult year for the travel industry as a whole, Broome says, “We did our best to provide the lowest cost, highest quality rental experience as possible.” He adds, “As we emerge from the recession, we will continue to add innovations to improve the customer’s rental experience, further distinguishing Hertz from the competition.”
