With summer vacation season almost in full swing, the California Travel and Tourism Commission (CTTC) is inviting travelers to experience the sunny California lifestyle with the Live Like a Californian campaign, featuring an assortment of new packages inspired by several famous Californians like surf legend Jack O’Neil and gourmet food truck pioneer Roy Choi, who are participating in the campaign.

In Santa Cruz, for instance, vacationers who want to experience the rush of catching a wave, can take advantage of a special vacation deal inspired by O’Neil, originally from Santa Cruz. It includes a 2-hour surfing lesson, as well as accommodations at Best Western All Suites Inn or the University Inn and Conference Center. Rates start at $169 per night.

Foodies can check out the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A Live! for a package inspired by Roy Choi, famous for his LA food truck empire, Kogi BBQ. From $229, this package includes deluxe guestroom accommodations, valet parking and a $50 daily credit to use at the hotel’s restaurants.

Recommend music lovers head to Se San Diego, located in the historic Gaslamp Quarter, for the Tender For Two package, inspired by singer-songwriter, Jason Mraz. Starting at $299 per night, this package includes Cityside guestroom accommodations and a dining credit to use at Suite & Tender restaurant. Se San Diego is situated next door to the famed House of Blues where guests can check out a variety of concerts throughout the summer.

In Napa Valley, meanwhile, wine enthusiasts can experience The River Rails and Wine Trails package—inspired by winemaker and former race car driver Randy Lewis—being offered by the Napa Valley Wine Train. Priced from $539 per couple, this package includes overnight accommodations at River Terrace Inn, a Wine Train gourmet lunch and a day of winery tours by limo courtesy of Beau Tours.

Families planning a summertime visit to Disneyland Resort may want to consider the Spend One More Day package being offered by the Walt Disney Travel Company. This package, which was inspired by Disney Imagineer Kevin Rafferty, includes two nights at Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor Hotel and 3-day Park Hopper tickets. Rates start at $86 pp.
