Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has graced the sands of South Beach with its newest property, Surfcomber Miami-South Beach.
The hotel, a whimsical bit of freshness and fun, sits directly on South Beach and joins its two Florida sister properties, Epic in downtown Miami and Vero Beach Hotel & Spa. It mixes the history of South Beach pop art and culture with modern decor and amenities to provide a playful welcome that its beachside location can appreciate.
“Surfcomber is a boutique resort with a fresh perspective on fun, one that provides the same level of service and satisfies the standards for every Kimpton hotel,” says Niki Leondakis, president and chief operating officer of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. “The difference is that guests can feel comfortable wearing flip-flops.”
Flip-flops, indeed! Its beachside location and 12 private poolside cabanas, pool bar and lounge offer guests all of the sunny, beachy splendor they can hope for, while the nearby location to SoBe arts, sightseeing and shopping will keep their to-do lists as full as they want them. In the evenings, the 186 guestrooms will provide a welcoming retreat—or a cozy place to get ready for a fun SoBe night.
And when hunger strikes, your clients are sure to be satisfied at onsite Lantao Kitchen + Cocktails. Featuring a Southeast Asian street-cart inspired menu, Lantao introduces guests to the flavors of Asia with options including crisp citrus and Thai basil marinated whole fish, and Singapore chili prawns and crispy kale. Of course, you can expect the cocktails to be just as delightfully exotic.
Additional amenities at Surfcomber include watersports such as paddle boarding and volleyball, fitness center, 24-hour room service, in-room and beachside massages, morning coffee and tea service, hosted evening wine hour daily, bikes, complimentary on-demand yoga, Pilates and meditation channels and more.
Most important, though, according to Leondakis, is the fantastic service guests receive at the Surfcomber.
“Guests come to us the first time for our amenities and locations,” Leondakis says, “but they come back for our service. At a Kimpton hotel, guests will experience warm, personal service from employees that care. In one instance, one of our guests went shopping at a local mall and had his purchases shipped to his home. After checking out and returning home, his packages never arrived. He called us at the hotel, distraught, and one of our employees took it upon himself to go back to the mall, pick out exact replacements for each of the items, and send them all directly to our guest at his home. All of this on his day off. That’s just not something that you’ll find at any hotel.”
Standard rates start at $299 per night, with grand opening rates at $259 also available. And through March 31, guests can take advantage of the Toast the Season for Just $1 More package at any Florida Kimpton property, where for just $1 above the regular room rate, guests will receive deluxe room accommodations, two cocktails nightly from the hotel’s restaurant (Epic and Surfcomber only), insider tips from retail therapists and 20 percent off all in-room spa treatments.
