The Bungalows at the new Miami Beach EDITION.

The Miami Beach EDITION, a new Ian Schrager property created in partnership with Marriott International, opened its doors on Dec. 1 in mid-Miami Beach right off Collins Avenue.

The new 294-room oceanfront resort offers intimate lounging areas and charming dining venues, including the Market, a reinvention of the classic 24-hour Miami Beach coffee shop by Michelin-star chef Jean-Geroges Vongerichten. It serves casual gourmet fast food ranging from pizza and paninis to baked goods, ceviche, tapas and shakes. On the beachside area of the resort, guests will find the Ocean Bar, a chic lounge with wide glass walls overlooking the Atlantic; and the Matador Room, the hotel’s main restaurant serving Latin cuisine influenced by Spanish, Caribbean, and South American flavors. The resort’s outdoor area, Tropicale, incorporates a series of landscaped outdoor rooms (each with its own personality), and at night the area transforms into a nightclub.

On the private beach, guests will find an outdoor movie screen, a fire pit, and private bungalows—28 in total. A freestanding Hot Shoppe serves healthy snacks and shakes. Hotel guests and visitors can find an entertainment hub downstairs from a “micro-hub” with a DJ and dance floor to a bowling alley and lounge featuring luminescent bowling balls—even an indoor ice skating rink.

Guestrooms, meanwhile, feature warm wood finishes and offer a relaxed beach-house feel. Rates start at $429 for a Standard King and go up to $10,000 for a Bungalow Penthouse. For more information, visit edition-hotels.marriott.com/miami-beach.
