SeaWorld Orlando welcomes a new thrill-seeking predator on June 10 with the opening of Mako, a 200-ft.-tall hypercoaster.

This new coaster will be the tallest, fastest, and longest roller coaster among Orlando’s theme parks, soaring at approximately 73 mph as it whips passengers along an almost mile-long track for the approximate 3-minute ride. Mako will anchor a 2-acre realm, Shark Wreck Reef, which also includes the existing Shark Encounter attraction, interactive learning exhibits, dining, and shopping.

To celebrate the new ride and realm, SeaWorld launched the Summer of Mako, a park-wide event that gives guests more opportunities to meet SeaWorld’s animals, attend scheduled feedings, and talk with animal ambassadors, educators and experts. Guests can also participate in a park-wide text message-based scavenger hunt called the Mako Challenge, where for every completed challenge, SeaWorld will donate $1 to the SeaWorld Busch Gardens Conservation Fund. Also opening on June 10 is the Shark Touch Pool, which allows guests to touch a shark. And, on June 18 Shamu’s Celebration: Light Up the Night returns with music, stylistic lightning, colorful backdrops, and a fireworks finale.

Park admission is $99 pp including admission to both SeaWorld and Aquatica Water Park. For more information, visit seasorldorlando.com.
