Renovations to the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort and Spa in North Florida include refreshed guestrooms and a new restaurant.

The Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort and Spa, a North Florida golf haven set on 65 acres of lush greenery, began its $25 million renovations last fall and is now nearing the completion of the resort-wide project. Presently, the full-service resort has completed landscaping enhancements, including the addition of 4,700 indigenous plants to both of the resort’s pools and lighting installed to the property’s 200-year-old oak and palm trees. Additionally, Sawgrass Marriott has wrapped up its pool remodeling, which includes new surfacing, lighting, and built-in fire pits for making s’mores, plus the addition of cabanas available for daily rental. By the end of the month, Sawgrass Marriott is expected to unveil a lighter, healthier menu at the new onsite restaurant, American Gator Club, which overlooks the 13th hole of The Stadium Course. Make sure your clients check out the resort’s activity calendar for recently added Gator Club events and activities for adults and kids.

Come May, the 511-guestroom resort will sport a fresh coat of paint, while guestrooms will have expanded with Juliette balconies replaced by oversized sliding windows. By the end of the summer, the Sawgrass Spa will boast two new couples treatment rooms and three new hair and makeup stations. Next to the resort’s main pool, guests will find the SurfStream wave simulator, where they can test their balance on the standing wave machine featuring adjustable wave size, shape, and multiple riding modes. Last but not least, summer 2016 will see renovations to the oceanfront Cabana Club, including a more elegant entrance and fresh landscaping, plus a new roof, resurfaced brick-paved walkways leading to the existing boardwalk onto the beach, and the resurfacing of both pools and adjacent patios.

In September, the resort’s guestrooms will be completed with new bedding, linens, carpet, lighting, and bathrooms, plus 30 additional square feet per room. A second Presidential Suite will also be unveiled, featuring a living room and separate dining room, both of which comfortably seat eight guests. This fall, the Sawgrass Marriott will also complete its Butler Serviced rooms and suites. Guests’ VIP keys will open the new wing consisting of 31 rooms and suites showcasing wide-planked hardwood floors, raised-platform beds, custom lighting, and a wrap-around sofa. Butlers will be also be on hand to assist guests’ every need, from preferential tee times to VIP reservations at exclusive restaurants. Rates start at $109 this spring/summer season.
