A Hot “New” Hotel
This month The Plymouth hotel, a dazzling Art Deco icon in Miami Beach, reopened after a transformation by renowned designer Fernando Santangelo. Originally opened in 1940, the new Plymouth hotel epitomizes the glamour and style of its time beginning with the lobby, which features a pair of restored murals by the 20th century artist Roman Chatov, vintage chairs, lamps and sofas in almond, ruby, aubergine and blue hues, and new leather furnishings, plus an antique wall clock, hand-crafted wall coverings and onyx-and-brass custom fixtures. The Plymouth’s dining options also got a refresh. Chefs Bruce and Eric Bromberg from Blue Ribbon Restaurants unveiled an elegant new eatery, Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill, as well as distinctive poolside eats set amidst coral-hued cabanas and bougainvillea-covered walls.

The Plymouth offers guests relaxing spaces inside and outside of the property, from its original street-front terrace, updated with swing benches and potted plants to the outdoor pool with its lush landscaping and cantilevered daybeds. Regular room rates start at $250 per night. For more information, call (305) 305-5070 or visit theplymouthmiami.com.
