Occidental Hotels & Resorts has made renovations to its Dominican Republic property, Occidental El Embajador.

The renovation introduced modern colors and shades, new furniture and upgrades to keep the hotel up to date with its five star status. The new lobby was transformed into the perfect setting to enjoy cocktails and tapas at the Gastro & Wine Bar, which offers a wine cellar with a grand selection of wines and champagnes, as well as Spanish tapas and Caribbean fusion cuisine. The new lobby bar also offers guests international cocktails with a wide selection of Dominican rum.

The 278-room property has also renovated 61 of the Superior Rooms with a classical contemporary design featuring neutral colors and new furniture. The 104 rooms and suites with ocean or city views—part of Club El Embajador, the hotel’s executive floor—have also been renovated featuring warm colors and new furniture. They also include a separate reception area and have a new private VIP Lounge. The eighth floor of the hotel, the Royal Club, which is the most exclusive, has also revamped its 22 rooms and five suites with new contemporary décor and furnishings with a warm color palette. The Royal Club also features an exclusive reception area, a bar, a restaurant, and private meeting rooms, as well as a terrace overlooking the hotel garden and ocean.

Occidental El Embajador’s gardens provide two special event areas—The Garden Tent with capacity for 700 people, and The Garden Deck. The property has also launched a new catering and delivery service, El Embajador Gourmet for offsite events. It also opened a gourmet market, for phone orders and catering for intimate events to large galas around the area.
