Walt Disney World has announced the opening date of its new Toy Story Land for June 30, 2018. The all-new land, inspired by “Disney Pixar’s Toy Story” films, will be located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
As guests meander around the park, they’ll feel as if they’ve shrunk to the size of a toy such as Woody, Jessie, Buzz, Slinky Dog, the Aliens, Green Army Men, and other Toy Story characters, as they come to live in the outdoor setting of Andy’s backyard. Guests will be surrounded with giant building blocks, game board pieces, and more throughout the 11 acres.
The new land will feature two all-new attractions, and one expanded favorite including the new family-friendly roller coaster, Slinky Dog. Other new attractions are the Alien Swirling Saucers, which will immerse guests in the playful world of Andy’s toys as guests ride on a galactic space toy. And, Toy Story Mania!, a past attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, gets an all-new colorful toy carnival game box entrance, as well as an added third track, allowing more guests to enjoy the popular attraction. In addition, Woody’s Lunch Box will serve meals from a walk-up window, including old-fashioned soda floats.
Toy Story Land is part of a multi-year reimagining of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Next year, the park will premiere the all-new 14-acre Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. And, in 2019 Micky & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will also debut.
Toy Story-themed Lands around the world are also available including: Walk Disney Studios Paris, where it opened in 2010, Hong Kong Disneyland, where it opened in November 2011, and Shanghai Disneyland, where it will open on April 26, 2018.
