From culinary-themed voyages to exploring the wilderness of Alaska, here’s what you need to know to book your cruise-loving clients on their next vacation.

Seabourn
is gearing up to embark on its 2019 season in Alaska and British Columbia—also known as “The Great Land”—with 10 departures scheduled aboard the Seabourn Sojourn. The season runs from June to October offering a selection of 11-, 12- and 14-day Ultimate Alaska cruises with itineraries including wilderness destinations such as Harriman Fjord and College Fjord; marquee ports from Ketchikan and Juneau; and rarely visited locations such as the First Nation villages of Alert Bay and Klemtu, a town of fewer than 500 belonging to the Kitasoo Native Band, where guests will be treated to an exclusive cultural experience within the Inside Passage of British Columbia. Every cruise of Seabourn’s 2019 season in Alaska and British Columbia will include complimentary Seabourn all-weather jackets; onboard guest speakers from the Seabourn Conversations program; opportunities for frequent wildlife sightings from the ship and shore; and a “Caviar on the Ice” deck party and other special deck events.

Adventurous guests can complement their cruising experience with Ventures by Seabourn shore excursions that allow them to explore select destinations through hiking and kayaking, or while aboard a Zodiac or catamaran. Each optional excursion exposes guests to up-close exploration of natural and/or cultural sites, with guidance, insight and lectures from the line’s expedition team staffed by naturalists, marine biologists, wildlife researchers, photographers, videographers, guides and more. Travelers who want to delve deeper and explore Alaska and British Columbia with a pre- or post-cruise land journey, can opt for the 5-day Denali Experience extension or the 7-day UNESCO Banff National Park & the Rocky Mountaineer itinerary.

Foodie Fun on the High Seas

recently revealed that six new cruises would be added to the James Beard Foundation Culinary Cruise Collection for 2020. Together, Windstar and the James Beard Foundation are taking guests on epicurean adventures that combine unique travel experiences with curated local culinary encounters that celebrate food and sustainability in the regions that guests visit.

All sailings are led by James Beard Foundation-recognized guest chefs, sommeliers and beverage experts with a passion for their destination. The six diverse cruise offerings will explore locavore cuisine on a country-immersive Croatia cruise; get a flavor for the rugged north of Alaska; discover lesser-known gems in France, Spain, and Portugal’s Atlantic coast; experience exotic cuisines of Indonesia and the Philippines; escape to hidden harbors in the Caribbean; and introduce cruisers to the trend-setting foodie scene and wine regions of the U.S. West Coast. The six newly announced cruises are scheduled to sail from January through November 2020, and range in length from seven to 14 days.

For foodies and wine lovers eager to experience a Culinary Cruise Collection sailing, there are still a few departures left in 2019 including the Yachtsman’s Harbors of the Rivieras itinerary departing on June 22, 2019 for an 8-day voyage in France; the 10-day West Coast Epicurean Extravaganza sailing throughout the U.S. West Coast starting on Sept. 24, 2019; and the 8-day Classic Italy & Dalmatian Coast itinerary departing on Oct. 14, 2019.

Gearing Up for Winter 2020-2021

officially opened general sales on 54 new itineraries for winter 2020/2021. Offering guests an increased range of destinations for the winter season, the new collection will include 20 maiden calls and also incorporate experiences throughout the Caribbean, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and South America.

A combined total of 26 voyages aboard Silver Shadow, Silver Whisper and Silver Moon—an ultra-luxury sister ship to Silver Muse, due to join the fleet in August 2020—will offer itineraries in 46 destinations in the Caribbean, including Saint Lucia, St. Barth, Puerto Rico, and Cuba. For guests’ convenience, many Caribbean voyages will depart and/or culminate in Fort Lauderdale.

In Asia, Silver Muse and Silver Spirit will visit 58 destinations in 18 countries, with each ship completing seven voyages between September 2020 and May 2021. In addition to calls in the major ports of Mumbai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo, the new collection’s Asian highlights include multiple overnights calls in various Vietnam destinations and roundtrip voyages from Tokyo during the cherry blossom season.

Between October 2020 and March 2021, Silversea guests will be able to sail to a total of 49 destinations in eight countries in and around Australia and New Zealand. By combining three voyages—Sydney to Fremantle (Perth), Fremantle (Perth) to Bali, and Bali to Sydney—travelers will be able to complete a 50-day circumnavigation of Australia aboard Silver Muse, discovering the highlights of Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia in the process. Additionally, iconic destinations in Australia and New Zealand, as well as a number of Pacific Islands, will be showcased on a selection of Sydney to Auckland voyages from December 2020 to February 2021.

In her inaugural season in the region, Silver Moon will journey throughout Central and South America between January and April 2021, enabling guests to discover 55 destinations in 27 countries. S.A.L.T., Silversea’s new culinary concept, will enable guests to form connections with visited destinations through unique culinary experiences. Aboard Silversea’s newest flagship, guests will be able to complete a circumnavigation of South America over 69 days, when combining four voyages.
