Carnival Cruise Lines has recently launched two new year-round ships, to be based in the Port of New Orleans. The 2,052-passenger Carnival Elation and the 2,974-passenger Carnival Conquest are expected to carry nearly 340,000 passengers annually from this port.
Cruise Options Carnival Conquest offers three different week-long Caribbean itineraries from New Orleans:
• Western Caribbean—calling at Montego Bay, Grand Cayman and Cozumel • Eastern Caribbean—calling at Key West, Freeport and Nassau • Caribbean—calling at Belize, Mahogany Bay and Cozumel
The ship features four restaurants, 22 lounges and bars, four pools and a 214-ft.-long waterslide. Nearly 60 percent of the ship’s 1,487 staterooms offer an ocean view or balcony.
Carnival Elation, meanwhile, offers 4-day cruises to Cozumel, which depart on Thursdays, and 5-day cruises to Cozumel and Progreso, which depart on Mondays and Saturdays.
The ship features three restaurants, 12 lounges and bars, an adults-only Serenity deck and a 300-ft.-long waterslide.
