Cannabis tours are now a thing you can book your clients on. San Francisco Bay Area based tour operator, Emerald Farm Tours is offering travelers Cannabis City Cruise Tours, Farm Tours, and Seed-to-Sale Tours. These tours range from taking guests to see cannabis attractions in the Bay area to introducing them to the famers, extraction technicians, bakers, and bud tenders who make up California’s cannabis industry. If you don’t already have clients requesting “cannatourism” experiences, you might be getting some soon.
We reached out to Victor Pinho, founder and CEO, of Emerald Farm Tours to learn more about these bookable experiences.
Pinho says, “We have two tour products currently available: the Seed-to-Sale Tour and the San Francisco Cannabis-Infused City Cruise. Both run four hours long, and cannabis consumption is always permitted aboard all of our tours. Everything we sell is commissionable and we use Peek Pro as our ticketing platform. The tours are 21+ and all guests must possess valid, photo ID on them at all times during the tours.”
In addition, he notes that seasonal tours come online at different times of the year as they follow the cannabis grow season…”we also host experiential events throughout the year,” he adds.
The Seed-to-Sale Tour, Pinho explains, “is largely popular with business-minded folks and seasoned connoisseurs.” On this tour guests visit a grow farm, an oil manufacturing lab facility where the product is processed into oil, and tour a premier cannabis retailer where the products that guests see on the tour are sold (with discounts). On this tour guests will get an understanding of California’s cannabis industry from the growing techniques and oil manufacturing process, to the distribution and large-scale retail operations. This tour is priced at $295 pp ages 21+.
The Cannabis-Infused SF City Cruise tour, he notes, “is great for visitors to San Francisco and locals alike!” This tour companies a half-day city tour bookended by two of Emerald Farms’ partner dispensary/lounge visits. Pinho explains that, “We pre-arrange discounts for our guests, a personal shopper experience, and our tours get their own dedicated Point-of-Sale at every dispensary.” In between these visits, travelers experience a city tour that includes San Francisco’s cannabis history, legend, and lore. In addition, guests will stop at iconic San Francisco landmarks such as Haight-Ashbury, The Castro, Golden Gate Park, Ocean Beach, and more. This tour is priced at $149 pp ages 21+.
If you’re thinking of booking your clients on one of these tours, Pinho has a few tips for travel advisors. “Our tours are higher-end, education-based experiences; hospitality, comfort, and safety are our top priorities,” he adds.
Every tour includes a late model Mercedes-Benz Sprinter limo bus or Lincoln Towncar stretch limo and a driver.
