Eye on the World: Lithuania

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

One of the nicest aspects of visiting Vilnius, capital of Lithuania, is that the local people seem to enjoy their city as much as we visitors who easily develop a special admiration and fondness for the baroque Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a mishmash of architectural styles. This historic center starts at Cathedral Square, home to the country’s main Catholic cathedral and the Palace of the Grand Dukes housing a fascinating museum; a popular plaza for concerts and street fairs; and front yard to the elegant and certainly well-located Kempinski Hotel.
