DiamondRock Hospitality Company has announced an anticipated June opening of the Barbary Beach House Key West, a 184-room oceanfront hotel inspired by the island’s natural landscape and legendary maritime history. Following an extensive, top-to-bottom conversion, the Barbary Beach House Key West has been transformed into a tropical haven where adventurers can discover Key West.

“Without a doubt, Barbary Beach House Key West will be a prized addition to our growing portfolio of experiential hotels and resorts,” said Tom Healy, COO of DiamondRock Hospitality in press materials. “Key West is one of the most desirable resort destinations in the U.S., and the guest amenities and design elements of our newest hotel really capture the island’s seafaring swagger, inviting guests to ‘drift wrecklessly’ in the Florida Keys.”

The hotel is located just a few steps from Smathers Beach, giving guests full and easy access to a gorgeous stretch of sand, turquoise waters and a wide array of beach play options. Complimentary shuttle service will provide easy access to Duval Street and the historic Downtown Seaport Harbor. Spacious guestrooms and suites will be dressed in rustic reclaimed wood, whitewashed accents, a warm marine color palette and contemporary amenities. Dining options will include full-service restaurants serving authentic coastal flavors and local seafood in casual indoor and outdoor settings.

Additional amenities will include a 24-hour fitness center, an on-site provision shop, poolside entertainment and daily refreshments, kids’ activities, lawn games and lounging hammocks throughout the grounds, as well as Barbary Beach Club with Hobie Cats, paddleboards and kayaks. As an added feature, the property coordinates beachfront weddings for guests looking to confirm or renew their vows with the Atlantic Ocean as an unforgettable backdrop. The pet-friendly hotel is just over one mile from the Key West International Airport.
