G Adventures and National Geographic Expeditions have announced a strengthening of their partnership with the launch of National Geographic Family Journeys with G Adventures

The new 12-trip program goes on sale globally on May 7, 2019 with each adventure featuring unique National Geographic experiences aimed at helping adults and children (aged 7 and above) connect through travel. Departures of these Family Journeys begin in 2020. More details, including exact departure dates, destinations and itineraries, will be announced little by little with the first trip reveal date set for Feb. 23, 2019.

“National Geographic Expeditions is excited to expand our partnership with G Adventures to include this new line of family trips,” said Heather Heverling, National Geographic senior v.p. of product management, in press materials. “Travel is one of the most rewarding and enriching experiences a family can have together.”

The introduction of the Family Journeys comes after four years of successful partnership between these two companies that launched the National Geographic Journeys with G Adventures program in 2015 with a focus on small group adventures. The program has grown to now include 89 trips in 53 countries, and according to Ben Perlo, U.S. managing director of G Adventures, this success made it a natural move for the two tour leaders to work together in proactively catering to the family market.

“This new program of trips is perfect for adventure-loving families who are looking to discover the world together,” said Perlo in press materials. “The newly designed itineraries have been developed from scratch to inspire travelers of all ages to experience each destination’s diverse characteristics, from wildlife and conservation, to history and culture, plus exploration, photography and storytelling.”
