Last week, Ponant announced details of its Green and Gentle Lands, Exploring Gardens and Historic Sites itinerary, the first in a series of Quintessential Collection cruises designed to inspire travelers to dig deeper into their destinations.

Scheduled for May 12–22, 2019, the Green and Gentle Lands, Exploring Gardens and Historic Sites sailing will travel from London into the North Sea, with stops along the shore in the British Isles, Belgium and Norway. The itinerary will include programs and performances on board Ponant’s Le Boreal, and excursions ashore will incorporate the local culture and a gardening theme. For example, Holly Shimizu, an internationally recognized horticulturist and retired executive director of the United States Botanic Garden, will serve as a guest speaker on board the ship and will also lead discussions with guests. Other highlights of the trip will include visits to Chelsea Physic Garden, the oldest botanic garden in London; Kew Gardens, London’s largest UNESCO World Heritage site with the most diverse collection of living plants in the world; and the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh where guests will also be treated to an exclusive gala luncheon.

Pricing for this itinerary starts at $4,690 pp dbl. For more information, visit en.ponant.com.
