|Southwest Airlines has once again been voted as the Best Airline for Leisure Travel in our Readers’ Choice Awards, making it the fourth consecutive win for the Dallas-based airline.|
Rob Brown, director of sales and distribution for Southwest Airlines, believes it is Southwest’s “customer service and customer friendly fares [that] make us the leader in the industry.”
Brown is understandably thrilled by the consistent acknowledgement of Southwest by Recommend’s readers. “Southwest Airlines is proud to receive this award for the fourth year in a row as it states our commitment to provide the best value to our customers,” he says.
Southwest continued to add product and service this year, including a major acquisition. The airline started service to Greenville and Charleston, S.C. and Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, N.J. It revamped its Rapid Rewards program with even better upgrade options. Southwest also acquired Orlando-based AirTran Airways and expects to complete the integration of the two airlines over the next several years.
It is Southwest’s service to where the airlines’ customers want to go and its easy and reliable schedules that makes travelers choose Southwest and makes it an easy sell for agents, says Brown. He adds that such services as no bag fees for the first and second registered bags and no change fees, plus providing customers and agents with the best value in the industry, also help get clients to choose the airline again and again.
