All-inclusive luxury meets full-on entertainment at the brand-new Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos. Visiting recently for the resort’s star-studded grand opening, I was impressed by how well the iconic brand delivers five-star comfort and connects with a wide range of multigenerational travelers. With trademark rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia, and superbly curated music from The Beatles to Ariana Grande, there’s a sense of place that makes an emotional connection with guests of all ages. “Music has no age boundaries, ”says Ash Tembe, v.p. of sales, AIC Hotel Group, adding “people want to have fun, and music is fun.”

Pristine Meets Playtime
This is Hard Rock’s first newbuild of an all inclusive property—and building from the ground up, notes Tembe, enabled the resort to reflect every nuance of Hard Rock’s signature style. For me, the stage was set while viewing the starkly beautiful mountain ranges of the Baja Peninsula en-route from the airport, then driving down a gated resort road to arrive at the hip, 639-room property located within the Diamante Cabo San Lucas complex.

It’s important for your clients to know that while Hard Rock is situated on the breathtaking Pacific coastline, swimming in the ocean is not permitted due to dangerous sea currents. Indoor and outdoor public spaces are oriented to beach views, but there are no lounges on the pristine sands fronting the resort. Instead, guests overlook the ocean while hanging out at one of the resort’s five pools.

While Hard Rock’s musical pulse creates a high-energy atmosphere inside and out, there are also inviting areas to chill. My happy place was reclining in a mellow spot of cocoon-like shaded lounge chairs suspended from an open-air ceiling, gently swinging over a shallow pool.

Signature Touches
The first standout detail happened at check-in, when I learned that the ubiquitous all-inclusive wristband was also a room key, opening my guestroom door with a swipe of the wrist. Very cool and very handy.

I loved the clean, contemporary guestroom design enlivened with blue and yellow accents. The best part was a spacious balcony, complete with a double spa tub residing in the corner. All eight guestroom categories at the resort have tubs on the terrace.

While I was settling in, a groovy amenity was delivered to my room: an old-fashioned record player with a curated collection of vinyl records. This is available to guests for their listening pleasure during their stay. For clients who want to channel their inner rock star with a more hands-on musical experience, another “room service” option is a high-end guitar.

I was pleasantly surprised by the tasty food. The menu at the Mexican restaurant, for example, offers delicious regional specialties, not Tex Mex. There are seven other dining outlets at Hard Rock, ranging from Italian to Brazilian Rodizo.

Hard Rock’s new Limitless All-Inclusive program is for clients who want to indulge in such luxuries as unlimited treatments at the fabulous Rock Spa, private beachfront dinners, and other perks. The way it works is simple: pay a 25 percent fee of the total cost of the activity, with no limits on how many times you can book any one service.

What’s In it For Travel Advisors

“We invest heavily in the agent community, with 17 business development managers in the U.S. and Canada working exclusively with agents,” says AIC Hotel Group’s v.p. of sales Ash Tembe. I saw proof of this commitment at the AIC Showstopper Awards held prior to HRH Los Cabos’ Grand Opening. More than 200 of AIC Hotel Group’s top travel advisors were recognized in a dazzling awards ceremony and hosted for the sensational opening events over the next few days. The Showstopper Awards are the pinnacle of AIC’s Amped Power Agent program, with “amplified rewards” ranging from free nights to airport transfers to room upgrades. Visit allinagents.com.
