When you think of Clearwater, FL, you don’t necessarily think of luxury travel. Don’t get us wrong, we love the beachy, laid-back appeal of the small town on the state’s west coast. It’s the quintessential Floridian seaside town, with wide, uncrowded beaches, streets lined with quaint souvenir shops and casual, open-air restaurants.
Certainly, there’s no other travel product in the industry that has shown such explosive growth as river cruising, a product so popular it’s prompted river cruise companies to produce new builds virtually every year, all prompted by near sell-out numbers early in the year literally year after year. And leading that interest and spurring that growth are the historically and culturally rich rivers of Europe.
Borrowing from the words of William Shakespeare, “All the world’s a stage,” travelers looking for an outdoor theater carrying showings of the greatest concentration of wildlife in the Western hemisphere should book a ticket to the Pantanal region in southwestern Brazil.
