A Culinary Feast
The remastering of Cunard’s 2,961-passenger Queen Mary 2 brings with it newly enhanced culinary delights and a new signature dining venue, The Verandah, serving French regional cuisine and a venue many repeat guests will know from Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria. One of our favorite spots on board is the Godiva Chocolate Cafe, serving such decadent goodies as a choco-licious chocolate sundae, although the new Tasting Room is also tempting with a wide selection of fine wines—a collection of 450—and The Cunard Wine Academy will pull your clients in with food and wine pairings, tastings and producer master classes. Also included in the facelift was a complete refresh of the Kings Court, the ship’s buffet area, as well as the transformation of the Winter Garden into the Carinthia Lounge, featuring afternoon tea service.

A Place to Call Home
Fun fact: In the overall remastering of the Queen Mary 2, 26 new carpet designs were used, and over 6,500 pieces of new loose furniture were introduced. And what a beauty has come out of this remastering. We swooned when we saw some of the refreshed suites and staterooms, including the refurbished Queens Grill and Princess Grill suites, and we could make ourselves at home in the very spacious Britannia Single Staterooms. In fact, the QM2 now boasts 30 further Britannia Club staterooms, 15 Britannia single staterooms and five Britannia inside staterooms. All accommodations feature WiFi service, nightly turndown service, and full bathroom with tub and/or shower, plus nearly three-fourths of the ship’s staterooms include spacious 8-ft.-deep balconies.

A Touch of Heaven
For a touch of heaven on board the QM2 tell clients to head over to Illuminations, the world’s only shipboard planetarium with constellation shows and reclining seats your clients will never want to get up from. Another cool facility is the library, the largest at sea with more than 9,000 volumes—everything from self-help to travel books (of course!)—and comfortable leather armchairs. Of course, the 20,000-sq-ft., 2-floor Canyon Ranch SpaClub is no slouch either, with an Aqua Therapy pool and Finnish sauna, among other amenities. Favorite pets get a dreamy vacation, too, in the expanded kennel area—in fact, Queen Mary 2 is the world’s only passenger liner to offer kennels on each Transatlantic Crossing. And tell clients not to miss all the placards around the ship showcasing Cunard’s storied history.

Exploring the World
In 2017, Queen Mary 2 will explore the world on a long lineup of distinctive itineraries. On May 15 of next year, for example, she’ll sail off on a 16-night Grand Belgian Escape roundtrip from New York ($3,799, oceanview cabin); on Aug. 21, she’ll sail the Norwegian Fjords on an 8-night cruise roundtrip from Hamburg ($2,399, oceanview cabin); on Sept. 29, it’s a 7-night Quebec, Halifax and New York cruise ($1,699, oceanview cabin); on Nov. 26, she’ll sail on a 12-night Eastern Caribbean cruise roundtrip from New York ($2,599, oceanview cabin), and there are a myriad of other offerings for your clients.
