The Travel Institute is starting off 2019 with its New Year New Career focus on new agent training, as well as for established advisors looking to continue their education.

During the New Year New Career campaign, individuals can take advantage of savings on TRIPKit, participate in complimentary training webinars, or sign up for free access to the “Hot Tip Tuesday” newsletter to receive a new business idea every week. There is also a members-only webinar series, including tax saving strategies, as well as information on choosing the best business structure for a new travel business.

The Travel Institute’s 2018 “The Changing Face of Travel Agents” study indicated that there was a growth in the number of independent agents over the past decade. According to the study, this growth was due to various factors including: 1. young students looking for a professional career option without a 4-year degree, 2. an increase in working professionals looking for a career change, and 3. stay-at-home parents looking for a home-based and flexible income.

“Not only does The Travel Institute continue to see more students entering the industry, but we continue to see them striving to be true professionals who deftly navigate today’s complicated and unpredictable travel environment,” says  Diane Petras, CTIE, president, The Travel Institute in press materials. “The Travel Institute’s coursework, whether introductory, specialized or certification-related, offers travel advisors the opportunity to start their own ‘TRIP of a Lifetime’ career, elevating their knowledge and, therefore, the level of service they are able to provide, while setting themselves apart.”

The Travel Institute’s training programs also run with support from its Professional Educators Program, PEP, with instructors who share their time and expertise on a variety of topics related to a travel professional’s success, along with countless suppliers, agencies, vocational institutions and others who use The Travel Institute’s curriculum.
