G Adventures has upped the ante by opening up additional spots for travel advisors to attend the invitation-only event—Change Makers Summit. The company launched its Change Makers Challenge late last year encouraging advisors to change lives through travel with the added incentive of a chance to win a spot at the tour company’s inaugural Change Makers Summit. Now, G Adventures has upped the ante by opening up additional spots for travel advisors to attend the invitation-only event.

The Summit, a first of its kind for the tour operator, will be an exclusive gathering of more than 100 travel advisors from around the world held at a surprise location outside the U.S. from June 2-9, 2019.  In total, five bonus spots—or wild cards—will be given away globally in February. By the end of the campaign on March 31, 2019,  a total of 15 travel agents from the U.S. will be invited to attend the Change Makers Summit. They will join more than 100 other Change Makers from the U.K., Ireland, Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, where they will spend time with members of G Adventures’ team of senior leaders and Global Purpose Specialists from around the world.

Here’s the breakdown:

  • Ten of these American agents will earn a spot by securing the booking the highest number of travelers from Oct. 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019. One traveler booked, on any trip of any value, will earn one entry point.
  • Three agents from the U.S. will be selected based on a ‘social submission’ entry, either written or video, which demonstrates how they give back to their community or to others outside of it. Entries are due by Feb. 28, 2019 and can be submitted via Sherpa, G Adventures’ booking tool.
  • Two agents from the U.S. will qualify for the Summit by earning bonus wildcard spots during the months of February and March.

“We’re encouraging agents to focus on changing people’s lives through travel and tourism, and inviting them to rediscover the ‘why’ of their career choice—a love of inspiring travel in others,” said Peter Worthing, v.p. of U.S. sales, in press materials. “G Adventures’ purpose as an organization is to change lives through travel, and this incentive is designed to remind our valued partners that every G Adventures trip they sell has a positive impact on people, not just on profit.”
