Nearly six months after its launch, host agency Independent by Liberty Travel (ILT) is using member feedback to create new structures for commission splitting and annual fees.
On Aug. 1, ILT replaced annual fees with a new tiered monthly structure. ILT agents can now choose their desired membership level with fees starting at $29 per month. New members will have a 1-time enrollment fee of $199, and there is a flexible contract with a 30-day cancelation option. The selected membership level will also dictate the commission split replacing the former production-based structure. There are now three commission split levels ranging from 70 to 90 percent. The 70 and 80 percent commission splits are determined by agents based on the tiered monthly membership level that they choose, while 90 percent commission splits will be earned on all bookings in ILT’s Platinum Range of Products regardless of membership level. ILT is expanding its Platinum Range of Products to over 120 properties throughout the Caribbean, Central America, Hawaii, and Mexico. The range has also been simplified to include entire brands rather than just individual properties.
