Two Carnival Cruise Line ships—Carnival Glory and Carnival Legend— collided today in Cozumel, Mexico.

The Carnival Glory hit the Carnival Legend, and slightly missed colliding with Royal Caribbean Cruises’ Oasis of the Seas ship. At the time of the accident, the Carnival Glory was maneuvering to dock at the port, and the Carnival Legend and Oasis of the Seas were docked.

At least one passenger has been reported injured. Photos from social media show damage to at least two decks of the right rear of the Carnival Glory.

Carnival Cruise Line issued a statement saying “Carnival Glory was maneuvering to dock when it made contact with Carnival Legend, which was already alongside,” said a spokesperson for the company. “We are assessing the damage but there are no issues that impact the seaworthiness of either ship.”

The statement also said that there was one reported minor injury of a Carnival Glory guest that happened when a group was evacuated from the dining room of the ship’s decks three and four.

The ships’ passengers have been advised to spend their day ashore in Cozumel. The cruise line has also said that damages won’t impact future sailings for either ship.
