The Future of Travel Survey, conducted by Preferred Hospitality, sister company of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, results were released today, and they indicate that most consumers are looking forward to traveling again after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The survey was administered by Preferred Hotels & Resorts to 3,695 Prefer Hotels Rewards Members from April 6-13, 2020 with responses by region including: 56 percent from the U.S., 14 percent from Europe, 11 percent From Canada, 9 percent from Asia Pacific and 10 percent from other regions.

According to the survey, 54 percent will book travel for 2020 once the restrictions have lifted, and 17 percent indicated that they are booking travel now for 2020.

Being away from family during the “Stay in Place” orders has travelers yearning to spend time with loved ones as 75 percent indicate the plan to travel with family, and 81 percent plan to do so by plane.

As for budget, it’s an even playing field. Thirty-two percent plan to spend between $150-249 per night on lodging, and 32 percent plan to spend between $250 to 499 on accommodations.

Of those who plan to travel, 51 percent plan to book a city hotel, and 30 percent are looking forward to a beach resort. Where are they heading to? The survey indicates that 44 percent will head to North America 30 percent will plan trips to Europe, and 11 percent to Asia Pacific. While 43 percent hope to travel internationally to a different continent, and 22 percent plan to travel internationally on their home continent.
