While the theme parks remained closed, Orlando is slowly returning to a resemblance of normalcy with limited opening for Universal Orlando CityWalk, and a planned, phased reopening for Disney Springs.

Universal Orlando Resort, CityWalk is now open for limited operations from 4-10 p.m. daily. However, some venues will remain temporarily closed at this time including Blue Man Group, all nightclubs, and Universal Cinemark. In addition, Universal Orlando theme parks and hotels will remained closed through at least May 31. Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk Hollywood also remain closed at this time.

When visiting Citywalk Orlando, in order to keep accordance with CDC guidelines, there will be enhanced sanitization procedures and additional measures for social distancing including:

  • All guests must wear a face covering during their visit.
  • Temperature chess are required upon arrival and guests with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or greater will not be admitted.
  • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Proactive social distancing and keep at least 6 ft. between your travel party and others.
  • Use floor markings during the visit; send on floor markings until the group in front of you moves forward.
  • Avoid contact with people who are sick.
  • High-touch surfaces such as tables, chairs, and more will undergo thorough cleaning.
  • All venues will accept cashless payments.

Over at Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Springs will begin a phased reopening on May 20. The rest of Walt Disney World Resort will remain closed, including theme parks and Disney Resort hotels.

Following the guidance of government and health officials, a limited number of shopping and dining experiences that are owned by third-party operating participants will begin to open during this initial phase.

As Walt Disney World Resorts continues to monitor the current conditions, and is making several operational changes in order to keep guests and Cast Members safe. Disney Springs will begin to reopen in a way that incorporates enhanced safety measures, including increased cleaning procedures, the use of appropriate face coverings by both Cast Members and guests, limited-contact Guest Services, and additional safety training for Cast Members. They will also apply learnings and ideas from leaders in the health and travel industries, and are also talking with their unions as they prepare for some Cast Members to return to work.

During the initial opening phase, Disney Springs will have limitations on capacity, parking and operating hours. Additional protocols and procedures may be announced closer to the opening date.

When theme parks, Disney Resort hotels, restaurants, attractions, experiences, and other offerings open there may be modified and limited capacity to promote physical distancing. In addition, some attractions, experiences, services and amenities may have limited availability or may remained closed. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
