In creating the Portrait of Israel, the Recommend team had access to hundreds upon hundreds of images that conveyed the many elements that make Israel such a fascinating destination and one that’s always at the top of anyone’s bucket list. Some of the most hip and innovative imagery to us, and the reason we chose to use it as the final “chapter” in this portrait, were those taken during the “Once in a Lifetime HD” experience. The “Once in a Lifetime HD” experience sought out leading Instagram users from around the world and invited them to Israel in September 2012 so that they could immerse themselves in the country’s tremendous variety of landscapes, cuisine and nightlife, as well as its multicultural community and culture.
