Eye on the World: Costa Rica

written by | Posted on July 24th, 2013

Last week, Recommend spent a few days in Costa Rica exploring its lush rainforests in Jaco (via a zipline), taking in a few surfing lessons, and soaking up the magnificent views on a catamaran ride in Manuel Antonio National Park. During our time in Costa Rica’s Pacific side, we lodged at the boutique Alma Del Pacifico. Here are few images from this eco-adventure trip.

On our way to Alma Del Pacifico, we stopped at the Tarcoles Bridge to peek at the massive crocodiles lounging in the mud.

Our driver stopped the van so we could take some shots of this beautiful bay.

We visited during rainy season, so the countryside was a vivid emerald-green hue.

The sun setting over Costa Rica's Pacific Coast.

The beachfront villas at Alma Del Pacifico.

The entrance to our villa at Alma Del Pacifico.

Funky and colorful artwork around the boutique hotel.

Entrance to the spa at Alma Del Pacifico.

Pathways leading to villas are full of rich tropical plants, flowers and trees.

A beachfront villa at Alma Del Pacifico.

The pool at Alma Del Pacifico.

We took a horseback riding tour of the property around the resort with Alma's GM and part owner, Fernando Alfaro.

While horseback riding, we came across this herd of cattle.

Horseback riding on the beach back to Alma Del Pacifico.

Surfing is a huge sport in Costa Rica. We decided to try it out for a few hours.

A fan cheering us on as we surfed.

The beach that cradles the property.

Our catamaran tour leading out to Manuel Antonio National Park.

An immense rock where frigates, white ibis, and other local birds use as a nesting habitat.
