With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to plan a romantic retreat stateside or a getaway to a tropical locale. We’ve found four ways to take a romantic rendezvous throughout the Caribbean, the Bahamas and Palm Beach that are filled with picnics, champagne and, of course, chocolate.

Couples can escape on a romantic retreat to a private island in the Bahamas with Kamalame Cay’s Valentine’s Day package.

The Lover’s Island Rendezvous includes a 3-, 4- or 5-night stay in a beach suite, cottage suite or 1-bedroom villa suite. Guests will receive a complimentary bottle of champagne and hand-crafted chocolates; a 60-minute couple’s massage at the Overwater Spa; a private dinner; and an afternoon on a private island in the Atlantic Ocean with a picnic lunch for two, snorkeling gear and speedboat ride to and from.

Rates start at $2,699. For more information, call (800) 790-7971 or visit kamalame.com. For more on Kamalame Cay, see Book a New Villa at Kamalame Cay.

On Valentine’s weekend, couples can jet to the Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort in Tobago for a 2-night stay with the Tobago Love package.

Available from Feb. 14-16, the package features a stay in a deluxe oceanfront suite with a complimentary upgrade to a 1-bedroom suite, if available. Guests can enjoy breakfast on their private balcony overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, as well as complimentary champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries upon arrival, and complimentary return airport transfers in a limo with champagne.

The beachfront, 178-accommodation hotel is set on 750 acres on the Tobago Plantations Estate and features the Equilibrium Face & Body Clinic, a dive center with training pool, an adults-only pool, and an 18-hole PGA-designed championship golf course.

Rates start at $699 per couple. For more information, call (868) 660-8500 or visit magdalenagrand.com.

Closer to home, The Chesterfield Palm Beach is enticing lovers with a Lover’s Escape package, available Feb. 13-14. The 1-night getaway features a bottle of champagne and chocolate-dipped strawberries, an evening turndown with rose petals and candlelight, and an English breakfast for two.

The four-star historic landmark property, located two blocks from Worth Avenue, features 41 superior and deluxe rooms and 12 suites, in addition to the fine dining restaurant The Leopard Lounge and Restaurant. Rates start at $447 pp. For more information, call (800) 243-7871 or visit chesterfieldpb.com.
